Beautiful Sunrise

Bright sunny day.
Yet, -2 C.
The wings must be covered with frost.
Unless, tedious deicing is done, there is no chance of flying.

Ice on Wings

These days, even if the weather is reasonable to fly, the airplane may not be.
This morning I saw ice cover on the wing. Luckily, the right wing had been thawed by the sunshine. But the left side was in its own shade.
First of all, using the tow bar I turned 90 degrees to the south so that both wings would get the benefit of the rare sun.
15, 20 minutes later, ice was softened and I could wipe it off the wing. The airplane became airworthy. Lucky day! And Chilliwack Lunch Day again!

Over Whistler and Blackcomb

It's a rare sunny day at this time of year.
As I missed the chance to ski Whistler, I flew over those mountains, instead.
At 9,000' I hardly saw skiers. No wonder my friend later told me she never noticed my plane over top.
The return was direct from Whister to Upper Pitt River, Pitt Lake, Fort Langley and my base, Langley.

Generator Trouble Again?

Yesterday, after landed, I've noticed the ammeter was not indicating positive. Again! To be honest, a little disgusted. So, I left the scene.
Today, ATIS was telling Runway 01/19 was closed till 13:00, yet I went there.
Charged up the battery by charger as usual, and fired up. Surprise! Ammeter in positive. This drives me crazy!
Then killed time at the cafe, socializing with other pilots. And came back to the plane, close to 13:00, finding out the closure had been extended to 16:00.
I decided to pack up.
A lot of patience is required in aviation.

After Snowfall

Winter Scene:

Oak trees along Bartlett Street gained white flowers, after they shed their leaves. Unfortuantely the photo doesn't reveal them much.
