First Snow in Season

a0025444_2222858.jpg

Thursday the forecast of snowfall in the back of my mind, I rode Ninja to CYNJ with a slight hope of flying GUS. There at the airport, the weather was Okay, but the whole airplane was covered with frost. My ethonol spray bottle was frozen, too. I quickly gave up flying, and had a breakfast with Jack. To avoid the traffic congestion of Port Mann Bridge, my return trip was via Alvion Ferry, which added a little over 10 km.
More Snow:

Attitude Indicator in My Hand

Rode Vision recumbent to Precision Instrument in Delta. It was very foggy when I left home. Once I crossed Alex Fraser Bridge over the Fraser, there was no more fog and in the bright sunshine.
The view from the highest point of the bridge was phenomenal.
The sunshine gave me an instant cure of my SAD and I felt happier.
24 km to go, through the part of the Burns Bog. On return, to protect the fragile instrument I stayed on the pavement; rode 72 Ave. and then #91. The return was only 20, making the total of 44 km.
I've decided to leave it for tomorrow to install, as ATIS of CYNJ still indicating below VFR.

Foggy Days

By the weather forecast, next one week it'll be a foggy day everyday!!!
Like snowfalls, fog makes the world quite, which is nice in this noisy world.
Of course, no flying in fog. Even IFR is almost impossible.

Attitude Indicator

The attitude indicator is being repaired in an instrument shop.
Initial 2 days expand to one week<---Typical business practice in this part of the world.
Patience. Patience.

Nabokov

ナボコフ雑感 by マサコ

Just by coincidence, I've borrowed "Speak, Memory" and a video tape, "Lolita" from Public Library. This Lolita, B&W was different from the one I watched some years ago in colour. I didn't like the heroine, and gave up watching quickly. She lacked aura, though it's totally a personal taste.

Burnaby Lake Bike Route

a0025444_9322817.jpg

Burnaby City Engineers, three of them came to guide participants on the proposed new bike route.
Only two joined; Mike and me.
This was the meeting place, taken while the rain started.
Once we started riding, soon the forecasted rain came, and no more photos were taken.
The route goes from north end at Hastings Street, and all the way south to 10th Ave., New West; North-South route.
My Goretex clothings kept me dry almost all the time, but towards the end, water started seeping in against my tender skins.
Then the trip was over, I rushed home for a heavenly bath.

NOTE: My Vision recumbent bicycle in the photo, right of the guy at the table, against the brick pillar.

Red Leaved Trees

From the window of the Birch, a couple of trees with bright red coloured leaves were seen. I wanted to take a close-up photo.
So far, everyday it rained.
It might have been possible I would miss a chance before all the leaves were fallen.
So, I walked in the rain and shot a photo. It turned out the far sight from my window was better.
