Reaper's Scythe

Feb. 18/10 Thursday:
I was flying Mooney airplane at 11, 500' east bound heading for Penticton in the Okanagan Valley.
It was about 10 minutes east of Hope, cruising at 250km/h with turbo charger on. I was breathing supplemental oxygen from a portable cylinder.
The weather was absolutely clear, not a cloud, very rare day in February in British Columbia, Canada. The terrain below was rugged, snow covered mountains.
The outside temperature was -10 degrees C.
The engine choked to stop with no warning.
This was only the second flight after the annual inspection a few weeks before, when the carbretor was overhauled, and the turbo was checked.

A few days later an aircraft mechanic at Penticton found the drain plug of the carb was missing. He assumed the plug had not been tightened nor lockwired.
